The Soft Landing programme helps you move your space business to the Netherlands. Whether you want to join the ESA BIC Noordwijk programme or just want to have a Dutch expansion or establishment, we support you with a smooth transition into our country. Within 6 months.
In short, we help with your first steps towards relocating to the Netherlands, introduce you and help you with the Dutch tax and legal system, offer custom business support and coaching, introduce you to office space, give you access to our network and, if necessary, help with your startup visa application. What does our relocation programme look like?

- Finance and taxes in the Netherlands
- Dutch legal system
- Intellectual property
- Subsidy landscape

Network support
During the Soft Landing programme, each month you will have a 1-hour progress meeting with one of the SBIC team members experienced in working with innovative startups. With them you can discuss your progress, and get relevant personal introductions to stakeholders in the Dutch Space Sector and Dutch Startup Ecosystem.
For example: NL Space Campus, InnovationQuarter, Netherlands Space Office, regional development agencies and/or support programmes, universities and other relevant organisations in the domain of space.
Office space
Let’s say you need a startup visa. And can await the process here in the Netherlands with a business visa. Or you already have business to do here, but don’t have your Dutch entity official yet. During the Soft Landing programme, you will get access to one work desk in the co-working space at SBIC Noordwijk.
Our premises are located at the NL Space Campus, close to ESA’s biggest R&D facility ESTEC (and just a half hour drive from Schiphol Airport). At SBIC, you’ll have access to three different meeting spaces perfect for physical, virtual and hybrid meetings.
Community membership
As a community member, you can connect with over 100+ space business related people in the SBIC community on Slack. You will get invited to our free Community Events & Masterclasses and you can ask your questions during office hours to our Partners in Residence.
