Zuid Holland has all the ingredients to achieve strong economic growth: a solid industrial history, over 30,000 manufacturing companies and suppliers, a focus on aerospace, agri and horticulture, shipbuilding and mechanical engineering, and more. These ingredients also offer the opportunity to play a key role in digitalisation, energy transition and the circular economy. Those transitions require technological innovations – and for that cross-sector collaboration and knowledge sharing is essential. That is why ZIE 2023 is a perfect meeting point.
Space Pavilion: visit the Dutch technology broker’s booth
The ESA Technology Broker NL is jointly managed by SBIC Noordwijk and NL Space Campus and this is your chance to meet us and find out more. Visit booth #30 in the Space Pavilion where the team will be on hand to discuss your technological problems and investigate whether a space tech solution could be the answer. Entrepreneurs, startups or larger companies in any of these four key sectors – agri-food, energy, logistics or high tech – can reach out to tap into the knowledge base and investigate possibilities or investigate whether feasibility studies could be undertaken.
Technological solutions to problems with high socio-economic impact will be priority when it comes to progressing ideas, obtaining funding and successfully bringing a product to market. Entrepreneurs who have no link to space are not likely to have it on their agenda, which is precisely where the experts in the brokerage come in – to connect and identify how a space application can be integrated to solve the problem and help them progress their goals. Behind the brokerage is a wider community, spanning from the heart of the space campus in Noordwijk and out across Zuid Holland and the country as a whole, meaning it is ideally positioned to take on this pivotal role. ZIE is the perfect event for you to talk to the team and find out more!
Pitches: space technology opportunities and innovations
This will also be an opportunity to hear from multiple successful space-tech startups. The entrepreneurs will pitch their initiatives and share inspiring stories about the opportunities that space technology has to offer. Meet the following ESA BIC startups at booth #30 and also pitching in Zaal 2 in the session that will be running from 14:50 to 15:20.
- Arceon develops high temperature stable, lightweight and cost-efficient ceramic composite products for space and defence.
- HDES Service & Engineering is developing oxygen and Carbon Dioxide Cool Gas Generators for aerospace, defence and medical applications.
- Revolv Space seeks to enable continuous payload operations for small satellites by designing, manufacturing and testing the next generation of critical components.
- Soilspect offers solutions for infrastructure monitoring. Its Automated Settlement Monitoring product provides accurate and efficient monitoring of dykes, roads and other infrastructure.
- Spherical Systems is developing next-generation space systems powered by our agile semiconductor design techniques, with technology providing improvement in small satellite hardware performance.
Networking: for young professionals – space meets high tech
Always wondered how space technology can tackle challenges on Earth and offer technical solutions for power generation, the health industry, agriculture and more? How for example satellites, and the technology and data they offer, benefit our society? Join us and we can have such discussions.
This is your chance to connect with young professionals from different companies, startups and institutes in the space and high tech industries. Make new contacts with diverse backgrounds and expertise at this meetup, which will take place at the Space Pavilion. The Space Pavilion at ZIE is hosted by Airbus, TNO, WestEnd, the ESA Technology Broker NL and five startups from ESA BIC Noordwjik.
The networking event takes place from 15:30 to 16:30 and has limited places for young professionals, so don’t delay in registering here! Once signed up, you will also have full access to the exhibition. Take the full opportunity to explore and expand your network.
