On 7 December, ESA ESTEC and the Business Incubation Centre were visited by a 15-member delegation from Sweden. The group, which included members of the Swedish National Space Board, trade council Business Sweden and several Swedish businesses was in The Netherlands to learn more about ESA’s initiatives for SMEs and space-related business and investment opportunities.
After a full program at ESTEC, the delegation received a quick tour of the ESA BIC Noordwijk. Next, they had the opportunity to meet two of ESA BIC Noordwijk’s startups: Spectral Industries and Lens R&D. This meet and greet immediately showed the growing potential of the BIC, as Johan Leijtens from Lens R&D led the delegation across the street to his brand new office and lab, which will be opened officially on 19 December.
