Lens R&D well on schedule

by | May 1, 2014 | ESA BIC, Incubatee, Technology Transfer

Nearing the end of its incubation period at ESA BIC in Noordwijk, Lens R&D is nicely on schedule to meet all targets originally defined in their incubation contract.

With the production of the first BiSon 6 Solar Sensors for concentrated photovoltaic applications, Lens R&D’s main target is met. The official market introduction of their product took place at the Conference on Concentrated Photovoltaics in Albuquerque, USA, where the sensor was well received.

Further testing and cost improvements will increase the market prospects for the device, but with this product the CPV market already has access to a sensor with unique properties never before combined in a single sensor. The device is not only very reliable and cost effective, but is also able to measure the solar aspect angle in two axes, is cleanable and very accurate.
