EBAN Launches EBAN Space to Promote and Advance Europe’s EcoSystem for Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Investing in Space. EBAN, the European Trade Association for Business Angels, Seed Funds and Early Stage Market Players, is very pleased to announce the launch of EBAN Space, the EBAN member community devoted to promoting a flourishing EcoSystem for entrepreneurship, innovation and investing in Space.
The launch of EBAN Space was made concurrently with the launch in London of the UK Space Tech Angels by EBAN Member London Business Angels and Seraphim Space Fund at an event hosted by John Worthy, Space Partner of the Field Fisher law firm in the presence of the UK Space Agency CEO Katherine Courtney, Airbus Ventures General Partner Francois Auque, Airbus Defense and Space Business Development Director Richard Peckham, Telespazio VEGA UK Ltd CEO Peter Young, and Nick Appleyard from ESA.
EBAN Space will be chaired by Anthony Clarke, EBAN’s President Emeritus, Managing Partner of Seraphim Space Fund and CEO of London Business Angels. Seraphim Space Fund is the world’s largest ever, early-stage, space-sector, venture fund launched by Seraphim Capital on 21 November, 2016. The fund, which EBAN has backed from the start, is focused on early stage space-related technology businesses and is targeting an £80m final close in the next four months.
The founding members of EBAN Space include London Business Angels and its newly launched UK Space Tech Angels, SpaceTec Capital, DNA Cascais, Space Angels, Airbus Defense and Space, and ESA BICS, all existing EBAN members and partners joining to form an even stronger entrepreneurial, innovative, and investment eco-system for all space infrastructure and services.
The launch of EBAN Space is the next logical step for EBAN which entered into a strategic partnership with ESA BICS in July 2015 and launched its Space Manifesto in May 2016. Many European national governments are inspiring and encouraging the launch of space-related investment funds as the benefits of space downstream and upstream investments become more and more apparent.
EBAN Space aims to bring all investors and entrepreneurs interested in investing and promoting space in Europe together.
The launch of EBAN Space follows on the establishment of its vertical member communities, such as EBAN Impact, EBAN Institute and EBAN e-Xcelerator.
