ABOUT THE JOB
We’re looking for a tech-savvy and proactive Marketing & Communication Manager. Someone who knows how to tell an engaging story, and at the same time knows how to distribute it efficiently. As the space industry is fuelled by curiosity – we’d like someone to join us who is eager to learn everyday.
PERIOD
Starting from October 1, 2022 – for 36 hours per week.

LOCATION
Noordwijk (NL). Possibility to work remotely half of the time.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Starting gross salary depending on experience
- Holiday allowance of 8% annual gross salary
- Number of holidays: 20 per year
- Travel expenses related to work will be covered, depending on the way of transport
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Produce and be responsible for all external communications (mainly in English)
- Provide a continuous stream of messages on multiple communication channels
- Adapt brand guidelines for day-to-day use in presentations, email campaigns, social media campaigns, etc.
- Promote our activities through (content) marketing strategies
- Set up and execute marketing & communication plans for SBIC’s other projects and activities
- Guarding the visual identity of our and our partners’ brands
- Manage and fill in the content calendar
- Form a team with our Content Creator, and direct and brief freelancers
- Offer advice to the entrepreneurs in our ESA BIC incubation programme – be their sparring partner
- Interview space related startups and key partners to create engaging articles
- Analyse, track and improve campaign performances
- Keep track of the marketing budget
- Keep our website (WordPress) up to date and sharp looking
- Know your way around to the ever-changing and fast-pacing world of MarCom and entrepreneurship
- Always look for new opportunities
It’s a big plus to have experience with Google Analytics, WordPress, Mailchimp and/or Buffer, or similar tools/CMS databases.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Min. 3 years of experience in a content and/or marketing team, or a similar function
- Fluent in English (verbal and in writing) is a must
- Communicative/social skills, and a hands-on mentality
- The ability to adapt to different project needs
- Flexible, representative, a sense of humour
- You must be based in the Netherlands

ABOUT US
Space Business Innovation Centre Noordwijk supports entrepreneurs that want to launch or improve a product or service that makes use of space technology. We do this by organising hackathons, competitions, workshops, events and programmes, and give them access to an international network, tools, knowledge and finance.
One of the most important tasks of SBIC is managing ESA’s startup programme in the Netherlands, ESA BIC Noordwijk. Next to that, with NL Space Campus we are ESA’s technology broker for the Netherlands and we are part of a consortium running the BSGN Sustainable Agriculture & Food Industry Accelerator.
