What happened in the ESA BIC Noordwijk network of incubatees and alumni recently? Every month, we look back at the highlights of our space business community. In this April 2021 edition: Trabotyx, Survey Intelligence & Analytics, Dutch Terahertz, BlackShore & OPT/NET.
Trabotyx receives Rabobank Innovation Loan
Recently, ESA BIC Noordwijk startup Trabotyx received an Innovation Loan of 150.000 euro from the local Rabobank ‘Bollenstreek’. With this loan the two founders Tim Kreukniet (CEO) and Mohamed Boussama (CTO) are able to further develop their weeding robot for organic precision farming, based on and inspired by space technology.
Survey Intelligence & Analytics takes InSAR to the next level
ESA BIC Noordwijk incubatee Survey Intelligence & Analytics by Reda Meftahi and Maud van Ees successfully concluded a pilot with Rijkswaterstaat in which they have proved their novel solution. In this pilot, they were able to analyse InSAR data that accurately estimate the impact of ground deformation on infrastructures. SI&A’s deformation models were able to show 100% correlation with all the selected measurements in the field. This means that the manual monitoring of infrastructures now have a powerful ally in predicting deformations.
Survey Intelligence & Analytics believes that valuable information is hidden in InSAR data. They have extracted that information and were able to increase the resolution, without losing any of that data.
Dutch Terahertz highlighted by ESA
ESA BIC graduate company Dutch Terahertz was featured in the Technology Image of the Week by ESA. In the picture above you can see how small they started. In the highlighted picture you can clearly see how it’s currently going.
BlackShore and OPT/NET stole the show
Last week we organised a workshop about successful EO businesses (and there will be two more). Of course we were joined by former ESA BIC Noordwijk entrepreneurs Taras Matselyukh (OPT/NET) and Hans van ‘t Woud (BlackShore) who were able to inspire a large online audience by showing practical applications.
