Why enter Galileo Masters?
Here’s one reason: the next steps are just around the corner.
Frank Salzgeber, Head of Technology Transfer Programme Office from ESA: “As the world’s largest space-related idea competition, the Galileo Masters is an important source for ESA’s Business Incubation Centres.” Which means the participants really spark the interest of the European Space Agency.
Which eventually brings us to the prize pool: incubation in an ESA BIC programme is often a prize to be won.
Galileo Masters prizes
Next to specific challenges, each European participating region has its own challenge and prizes (to know more about the specific challenges, contact the regional director). For instance, in the Netherlands the incubation & accelerator prizes are:
- Pre-incubation support package (worth 6500 euro)
- 3 months office space at SBIC Noordwijk
- E-GNSS accelerator support
- Chance of entering ESA BIC
And that’s just programme related. There’s more, a lot more.
Ahead of its time
GSA – the European Global Navigation Satellite Systems Agency – has been a partner of the competition from the first hour. Executive director Carlo des Dorides says: “The Galileo Masters has always been ahead of its time. We are looking forward to more success stories.”
Some Galileo successes: the three startups Centrip, Drones for Work and JOHAN Sports for instance. And AR World, winner of the Netherlands’ Challenge in 2018, really made progress as well.
If you want to become one of those successes, we hope to have inspired you to do so.
